Our Story

Le Collectif - L’Art de Vivre est né à Hudson, Québec, d’une idée simple partagée entre amis et voisins : réunir l’art, le style vintage et la communauté dans un espace chaleureux et accueillant.

En 2024, la fondatrice Allison Smith (artiste, allisonrobinstudios.com) s’est associée à Nancy Jane Farnum (artiste et créatrice, nancyjanefarnum.ca), Erika MacPhee (propriétaire de Le Corbeau et le Renard), et Anick Joanisse (propriétaire du Verger de Hudson Bio) pour créer Art de Vivre Hudson — une exposition collective semi-extérieure alliant art, ambiance vintage et engagement communautaire.

Portées par le succès de cet événement, Allison, Nancy et Erika ont voulu prolonger cet esprit toute l’année. Le résultat est Le Collectif - L’Art de Vivre : à la fois galerie d’art, atelier de création et expérience soigneusement organisée.

Le Collectif - L'Art de Vivre began in Hudson, Quebec, as a simple idea shared by friends and neighbours: bring art, vintage style, and community together in warm, welcoming spaces.

In 2024, founder Allison Smith (artist, allisonrobinstudios.com) teamed up with Nancy Jane Farnum (artist and creator, nancyjanefarnum.ca), Erika MacPhee (owner of Le Corbeau et le Renard), and Anick Joanisse (owner of Le Verger de Hudson Bio) to create
Art de Vivre Hudson—a semi‑outdoor group art exhibition aligned with vintage styling and community outreach.

Buoyed by the event’s success, Allison, Nancy, and Erika set out to offer this spirit year‑round. The result is Le Collectif - L'Art de Vivre: part art gallery, part working studio, and part curated experience.

What we are

Galerie d’art : Expositions en rotation mettant en valeur des artistes locaux et régionaux.

Art Gallery: Rotating exhibitions featuring local and regional artists.

Studio: A living workspace where ideas are tested, techniques are shared, and works evolve in real time.

Curated Experience: Vintage furnishings and décor are styled with art to show how both can live beautifully together.

Origines & communauté

La collaboration entre Allison et Nancy remonte à plusieurs années, commençant par des moments passés dans l’atelier d’Allison et dans d’autres espaces créatifs voisins situés dans le bâtiment historique Leggs, à Hudson.

Nancy, ancienne copropriétaire de la galerie/boutique Two Barn Owls, qui a accueilli la toute première exposition solo d’Allison à Hudson en 2019, est devenue rapidement une amie proche d’Allison. Ensemble, elles se sont ensuite lancées dans la restauration d’un espace studio partagé dans une grange convertie à Saint-Lazare, QC.

Erika et Nancy se sont rencontrées par l’entremise d’amis communs et ont ensuite partagé un espace chez Le Corbeau et le Renard. Ces fils conducteurs — amitié, proximité et esthétique commune — continuent d’inspirer notre programmation et nos partenariats.

Origins & Community

Allison and Nancy’s collaboration traces back many years, beginning with shared time in Allison’s home studio and neighbouring creative spaces in Hudson’s historic Leggs Building.

Nancy, former co-owner of the gallery/boutique Two Barn Owls, which hosted Allison’s very first solo art show in Hudson in 2019, quickly became a close friend. Together, they later set out to restore a shared studio space in a converted barn in Saint-Lazare, QC.

Erika and Nancy met through mutual friends and later shared space at Le Corbeau et le Renard. These overlapping threads—friendship, proximity, and a shared aesthetic—continue to shape our programming and partnerships.

Situé à Hudson (QC), nous présentons des expositions saisonnières, des ateliers, des cours et des événements éphémères (pop-ups), y compris l’exposition annuelle Art de Vivre Hudson au Verger de Hudson Bio.
